Local Area Attractions

Homewood at Williamsport is surrounded by a mixture of history, culture, and recreation. We're less than a 30 minute drive to historical landmarks like Antietam National Battlefield, whose grounds are free to the public. Antietam is host to a number of popular events, such as the 4th of July "Salue to Independence" and the annual Memorial Illumination, with luminaries that represent each of the 23,000 casualties of the battle.

Other attractions include:

  • The Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown's Arts & Entertainment District, hosting performances throughout the year, including the Maryland Symphony Orchestra.
  • Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, which sits in front of a large duck pond in Hagerstown City Park and welcomes new exhibits each year.
  • C&O Canal, located just down the road in Williamsport and featuring a peaceful towpath for walking and biking along the Potomac River.
